The Assisi Loop is a non-invasive NPAID (non-pharmaceutical anti-inflammatory device). There is one button, on the front of the device that turns the device on. The device runs for 15 minutes, lights flashing, and shuts off on it’s own. The manufacturer asks that the device is not used again for at least 2 hours, in order to allow the battery to recharge and to get the best life of the device.  For chronic conditions or acute pain, many veterinarians will recommend that you use the loop for 3 to 4 treatments per day for 7 to 10 days and monitor your pet until you see improved mobility and less pain response.  Upon improvement, many veterinarians suggest that you can taper down to 1 or 2 treatments per day or even 1 to 3 treatments per week. Each Assisi LOOP® delivers a minimum of 150 15-minute treatments and is available at the PAW Center for therapy onsite, rentals, and for purchase.

A little history…

Nikola Tesla was the first modern individual to be recognized for manipulating electromagnetic fields for health purposes in the early 1900s. The technology is FDA cleared (in 1979 for bone healing) and is used for human health. See a timeline of Assisi history here:

How does it work??

By emitting bursts of microcurrent electricity, the Assisi Loop creates a field which evenly penetrates both soft and hard body tissue around the targeted area (where the loop is positioned). This electromagnetic field causes a chemical cascade, which activates the Nitric Oxide cycle. Nitric Oxide is a key molecule in healing for humans and animals. The compound is released when we exercise, and when we are injured, for the body to naturally repair itself.

The Loop increases Nitric Oxide production to help speed healing of soft and hard tissues–that includes skin, tendons, ligaments, bones and organs. The specific ratio of frequency to burst width used by the Loop has been found to be the most effective at delivering the amount of current that is similar to what is already used by the body. More is not always better, and too much Nitric Oxide production can actually slow healing. When choosing a PEMF device, it is good to know that more power is not correlated with faster healing.

In general, tPEMF™ can be used to speed healing, reduce inflammation, and lower pain levels. For any kind of orthopedic injury or surgery, the Loop is a great tool to use in the recovery stage. The field penetrates fur, bandages, and casts to reach all the tissue in the target area.

What does the Loop treat?

-Aging animals

-Orthopedic injuries

-Neurological issues

-Post-surgical and swelling

Benefits of the Loop?

-Suitable for any species

-Works through casts, bandages and most orthopedic implants.

-Complements pharmaceuticals

-Excellent for patients that do not tolerate NSAIDS

-Reduces pain – Increases mobility

-Improves circulation -Reduces sweeling

-Accelerates healing

The Assisi Loop is NOT water resistant. Not suitable for use around oxygen or Nitrous Oxide. Do not use around persons with an implanted system that contains lead. Do not use around metal cages. Do not leave the pet unattended. Do not use around persons with pace makers. Bending or elongating the applicator too much will hinder its effectiveness. Keeping the applicator as circular possible provides the best field of treatment. Get more information at:
